Tenacity?

facebook event

Project is inspired by plays „Steamer Tenacity“  and „Ladies night“ which both tell a story about people who accept being defeated by the social context, and decide to quit hope and their personal fight :  to leave the country or to continue living without a fight/meaning.
Those people came to be confronted with questions: What is realy important to me? Will it be better somewhere else? Are we abble to accept personal and social defeat, rise up, see the situation rationally and continue? Continue to live with our own and social problems?
Problem of accepting crises, personal and social defeat, is an important topic that  Bosnia-Hercegovina and Serbia have in common and it is especially bothering young people that have no memories of a better past. They grew up in families who lived through huge disappointing and change of way of life and values.
We will use the play as a starting point for thorough research and workshops of improvisations in order to gain deeper understanding of situations and reactions of the people that are marked with this region. Material from these workshops will be a base for two performances which will be created. One with proffesional theatre team, and the second with students and young acting and directing graduates  from  the Academy of performing arts Sarajevo. The two performances will be performed in 6 cities, followed by workshops for local scholars and debates with local audience.
